A Dreams I Keep resource

A 60-second dream journal template.

Record what is already available when you wake: one scene, the feelings, and any context you recognize. If a detail is unclear, leave it open.

Start with a sentence, not an explanation.

Your record

What is still with you.

The timing is only a guide. A minimal entry is enough to record what was present.

This page has no form submission and does not automatically save what you type. Reloading or closing the tab may erase it.

0–20 sec
A place, action, or image. Do not fill the gaps.
20–30 sec
One word or a short phrase is enough.
30–40 sec
It may differ from the feeling inside the dream.

40–60 seconds: add only what is already available. Any field can stay blank.

Who or what appeared, without interpreting it.
The last action, phrase, or image you remember.
A jump, transformation, or strange detail.
Only a personal connection you already recognize.
Keep uncertainty separate from what you remember clearly.
How to use it

Three moves. No filled-in gaps.

The structure makes it easier to record the same kinds of details consistently. It does not guarantee better recall or turn an observation into an explanation.

01

Write the scene

Start with the place, action, or last moment that is still with you.

02

Record the feelings

Separate what you felt in the dream from what you felt when you woke, if you can.

03

Add available context

Add people, places, objects, or personal connections only when they are already present for you.

Template boundary

A repeated detail is an observation, not an answer. This template does not interpret a dream, predict events, diagnose a condition, provide therapy, or assign the same meaning to an image for everyone.
